The Handbook
Every reading, straight from India's official statistical system.
How this is made
Every number here is official — most from India's National Statistics Office via the MoSPI eSankhyiki service, exchange rate and reserves from the RBI, and population from the World Bank (India's Census is only decadal). Everything is normalised into one consistent, typed schema so a rupee reads like a rupee and a month like a month across every dataset. Where the government revises a figure (GDP is re-estimated several times), we keep the most authoritative version and record which estimate it is.
